Pay it Forward Game!!

I won a contest over at Shanna's blog and the purpose of the game is to pay it forward. I like this so here goes!

The rules:

1. Answer the following questions in the comment section on this post.

  • What kind of mop do you use? Do you love it? Hate it? (May seem like a boring question but I NEED to know.)
  • What are your summer vacation plans? Are you going anywhere fun?
  • What book are you reading or have you read most recently?

2. I will pick four names at random from all of the comments and send a prize to the winners!

3. Contest closes Wednesday the 21st at 11 pm, and I will announce the winners Thursday morning.

4. Adding this because I forgot to mention there are actual prizes!

Have fun and good luck!!

Yay! You don't have to enter me to win, since I already won once, but I want to answer! :)

1. I use a Rubbermaid hardwood floor mop. I love it. For the bathrooms I just use a rag. I am still in mourning for my scooba. I am waiting for the hardwood floor robot...

2. Summer vacation I don't think will exist this year. My plans include going to Stone Mountain a lot and trying not to be bitter about Kydon being in school (so far doing well on the first, not so much with the second).

3. Right now I am 1/2 way through Count of Monte Cristo. It is really good!! I got 'The curious incident of the dog in the night-time' for mothers day, and it looks so good. I can't wait to get to it.

FUN!

What kind of mop do you use? Do you love it? Hate it? (May seem like a boring question but I NEED to know.)I HATE my mop - it is some cheapie from Walmart - I really need a new one...

What are your summer vacation plans? Are you going anywhere fun?
We are going to Florida in June for 10 days for my sisters wedding - I am sooo excited. We are also going to go to the St. Louis zoo at some point.

What book are you reading or have you read most recently? HMMM I have the Devil Wears Prada on my nightstand. I need to start that - huh.

woohoo
1. I use the swiffer daily, BUT I use a microfiber cloth instead of the disposable ones. I also fill it with Clorox's Green all purpose cleaner. I like it, not LOVE but like. I am still a hands and knees mopper (is that a word??) at heart.
2. I'm in the middle of deciding on our family vacation right now. Seriously it shouldn't be this hard. Currently we're entertaining the beach in Georgia. Which one? I have no idea.
3. I'm reading Kite Runner right now and I LOVE it. It's really got me thinking about bravery and how to have the courage to live your life in a way that you can be proud of.

Hi Becca! I love your blog - so fun and entertaining. I'm not answering to win, merely to answer and say hello! :O)
1)I am currently using the Method Omop from Target. I love it, but mostly because the Method hardwood cleaner that 'goes with' it smells heavenly and does a really good job on my floors. We have hardwood throughout most of our house, so I'm not talking dust mopping here ... I'm talking scrubbing little boy goobers and spills, farmer-husband tracks, and such. I also like that the handle is long and curved - my back is what I would call useless, and this mop doesn't irritate it too much. I also got some of the Method 'multipurpose floor' cleaner and it's good too - just don't use it nearly as much since our house is mostly wood. Oh ...and it happens to be a 'green' product and that's a good thing too. I still love my Swiffer for dust-mopping. I've tried the Method cloths but just haven't found my love for them yet.
2) As for summer ... we have no plans other than hanging out at home, venturing to the pool and parks, and watching daddy go back and forth onthe tractors, LOL.
3) The book I'm currently into is 'The Last Time I Was Me' by Cathy Lamb. I read her book 'Julia's Chocolates' and really enjoyed it so thought I'd try her next novel. So far so good! I just finished reading a 'young adult' series by Libba Bray that was fascinating - very Harry Potter-ish if you like that stuff. The first book is called 'A Great and Terrible Beauty'.
I hope you find a mop you love! Anything to make that chore better, huh? Give the boys some smooches from Idaho!! :O)

Ahh Ambre, I didn't know you read my blog! Thanks!! And now I have enough entries to give a prize to 4 people! Hopefully there will be more so there's competition though ;) Thanks for the answers!

I don't know you:) but followed your comment on Shanna's blog so i will give the others some competition:)and I am always on the lookout for a better mop!

1. Right now I am using a OCedar sponge mop that I can change out the heads. I use this on my non-hardwood floors. For my hardwood I am using a cotton mop where the head comes off so I can throw it in the washing machine right when i am done using it. I am hoping I can get a steam cleaner this summer...but can you use that on hardwood??
2. Summer vacation: we will be visiting Stone Mountain(so maybe we will see you there Shanna?) and hopefully take our camper out of our backyard for a change and just visit family in Alabama.
3. The last chapter books I read were the Twillight series. Books I read have more pictures than words since I teach preschool. I have never been a big reader but am enjoying it more as I get older:)

I'm using the Swiffer right now. It's only okay. In this house it doesnt show streaks but our other house haslots of sunlight streaming in and showed all kinds of streaking.

We have a wonderful "vacation home" in Georgia (snort) but after making the payments we cant afford to get to it. Ha. No, no vacation this year.

I just finished reading Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult. My next book will have to be a fun, fluffy read.

Crystal-

What kind of mop do you use? Do you love it? Hate it? (May seem like a boring question but I NEED to know.) I use the old timey rag like mop. I HATE it. I want something better but haven't gotten around for searching for something.

What are your summer vacation plans? Are you going anywhere fun?
We just got back from the beach, we plan on going to the beach a few more times since we live close enough, we also want to take a trip to the mountains in NC. We like to take smaller trips throughout the year instead of one big trip.

What book are you reading or have you read most recently? Hubby and I are reading The Chronicles of Narnia.

(just moving this here so they are all in one place :))

Whooo - a Game! And Prizes!!

1. I use a Swiffer with the wet clothes. I also have some other mop from Target (Michael Graves, I think.) The Swiffer is great for every day. The other one is for major jobs.

2. Summer vacation will be a conference in Raleigh NC for me and hopefully combined with a trip to the Outer Banks for everyone.

3. Reading 2 books - Jen Singer's book and Roadmap to Holland, about a mom finding her way through her first 2 years with a child with Down Syndrome. They are both wonderful!

umm... that would be wet CLOTHS, not wet CLOTHES. (must.slow.down)

1. I use one of those cheapy mops from Walmart and after attempting to use it this morning I officially hate it. Most of the time I use my floormate or just get down on my hands and knees.

2. We are going to Vermont for a week, as usual. My whole family (parents, sisters, us) rent a cottage on a lake and spend the week together. We've been going for maybe 6 years now!

3. How sad. I can't remember the last time I read. I know the last one I read was from one of the Benny Harper mysteries by Earline Fowler. Most recently I've been skimming my Tri-State Gardening book.
