Yep, in the pond... another alligator. I know it must get old hearing me go on about this but I can't get used to the fact that there are real live alligators in my backyard. It's fascinating and creepy all at once.
This is all just one alligator, he swam around and we stared at him and he stared at us for a good half hour.

I don't think I could get use to an aligator in my backyard!! Have your kids named him yet?? Maybe that would make it too personal!
I don't think I'll ever get used to it. I grew up in Oklahoma and the only animals we had in our yard were bunnies. And one time I found a possum in our storage shed (that was actually pretty traumatic)... But reptiles, no.
You have ALLIGATORS in your yard?!?!?!?! Holy crap!!!!! How do you keep them out of the actual, um, yard? I do believe that I would run screaming into the night if I saw that.
How sad is it that my first thought was 'it would eat my dogs!' and not 'it would eat my kids!'??? Maybe because my kids would probably have the sense to run away? I use the term 'probably' loosely here, since it's equally likely that the boy would try to ride it or something.
My kids are DYING to come to your house to see the alligators. Me... pictures are good! :-)
Astarte, they pretty much stay in the pond. I have a feeling we will be putting a fence in at some point. As soon as we stop doing other projects and actually have the money for it.
Sue, your kids are welcome anytime as long as they bring their very fun mommy with them!! (And the dad too if he's up for your kids PLUS mine, plus alligators! Hee)
